India has let an Iranian naval ship dock at Kochi. This happened after the ship had some problems while sailing in the area. The Iranian ship, called IRIS Lavan arrived at Kochi on March 4.
Iran first asked for help on February 28. They told India that the ship was having some problems and needed a place to dock. India said yes on March 1. Then the ship was taken to Kochi a days later.
The ship is now at a facility in Kochi. The 183 crew members are being taken care of by the Indian Navy. The ship is not allowed to leave until notice. The Indian government has not made an announcement about this yet.
