Russia says it will keep information about its crude oil exports to India private. Dmitry Peskov, who speaks for the Kremlin made this announcement.
He said this on Friday. Peskov said Russia will not share numbers about oil shipments to India. He thinks there are many people who do not want Russia to succeed and they are watching very closely. Peskov said this hours after Scott Bessent said the United States would let Indian refiners buy Russian crude oil for a little while longer thirty days to be exact.
Peskov was talking about reports in media that said Russia could send a lot of crude oil to India around twenty two million barrels in one week. He did not say if this was true or not. Peskov said the government will not tell anyone about this.
Russian state television showed a map with oil tankers moving from the Arabian Sea to the Bay of Bengal. These tankers are headed to refineries on Indias east coast.
Russia also said it can send energy to big buyers in Asia. Alexander Novak said Russia can increase exports to India and China.
This is happening at a time when the worlds oil marketsre uncertain. There is a war going on in the Middle East with Iran, the United States and Israel involved. This war has disrupted energy routes, like the Strait of Hormuz which's very important.
With shipping routes having problems and supply chains changing Russia wants to send crude oil to Asia. Russia is getting ready to supply crude oil to Asian markets, including India and China because of the problems in the Middle East. Russia crude oil exports are very important, for India and other Asian countries.
